Upgrade to OJS 3.5
Is your OJS up to date?
Support for OJS 3.3 LTS ends in Q2 2027. Upgrading to 3.5 means continuous protection for your journal and your authors.
If you run OJS 3.3, LTS support for this version ends in Q2 2027 - after that date you will no longer receive security fixes from PKP. OJS 3.5 LTS, supported until Q2 2029, is not just about new features - it is above all about the security of your journal and your authors.
3.x → 3.5 migration
A complete upgrade, including the complicated 3.3 → 3.5 path - with an analysis of whether to go directly or via 3.4. Without data loss.
Server preparation
OJS 3.5 requires PHP 8.2+ and MySQL 5.7.22+, MariaDB or PostgreSQL 9.5+. We prepare the server environment - because without it the update itself will not start.
See our serversPost-upgrade testing
We verify plugins, themes and integrations - DOI, Crossref, iThenticate - before the journal returns to work.
Security in the LTS perspective
OJS 3.5 LTS is supported until Q2 2029. We plan further updates so that your journal is never left without support.
